The OM‑2125‑MDT is part of Southmedic’s second‑generation Oxy₂Mask™ EtCO₂ line, distributing oxygen through its patented open "Pin and Diffuser" system. The mushroom‑shaped pin generates oxygen vortices, while the triangular diffuser directs that flow towards the patient's nose and mouth—delivering oxygen concentrations between 24 % and 65 % FiO₂ at flows from 1 LPM up to flush (>15 LPM). This open‐mask design minimizes the risk of CO₂ rebreathing and avoids the need for valves or reservoirs, promoting patient safety and comfort. 

Equipped with a Microstream™ connector and integrated diffuser cup, this mask supports real‑time nasal and oral end‑tidal CO₂ sampling via a standard Microstream capnography system. The design allows seamless connection to filters and monitors while maintaining access for endoscopy, bronchoscopy, oral medications or fluid delivery without mask removal—a clear advantage during procedural sedation or care scenarios needing continuous ventilation monitoring.
